Would you like to be the parent of a Lonesome Grove Beagle puppy?
Here is a brief description of the process:
1. First contact us about a specific puppy you are interested in, or inquire about upcoming litters.
*** note, as of 4/20/2011, we no longer function under a waiting list plan for the adoption of puppies. We can certainly let you know when the next litter is born, but it will now all be a first-come-first-served process. The puppies will be available for adoption when their 4 day old pictures are posted. A person may select a puppy right away then. You may not want to wait-- they tend go fast!
2. Make a definite commitment to a specific puppy and confirm that it is available for you. At this time the puppy will be placed "ON HOLD". That way others know that the adoption process is in the works. At this time we make travel arrangements. We will book a flight, give you the specific date, time and place to pick up your baby. All shipping costs are covered in our shipping fee, so there is nothing for you to pay at the airport.
3. Make your $100 (non-refundable) deposit. We generally use "PayPal" for all transactions, unless we make other mutually agreed upon arrangements. PayPal is a widely used and secure way of making payments online. We have been using it for many years and have never had any security issues with it. We simply send an invoice to your email address. From the invoice you will be prompted on how to make your payment. Upon receipt of your deposit, your puppy is then listed as "RESERVED". A puppy can only be "On Hold " for 7 days, if a deposit has not been received by then or arrangements made- he will then be available for others.
4. Now it is waiting time until your puppy is old enough to leave for its new home. We update our blog with new pictures of the puppies weekly, so that you can see them grow and mature.
5. If your puppy needs to be shipped to you, your wait is a little longer. The USDA requires that puppies be at least 8 weeks old in order to fly. About 10 days prior to the travel date, we will invoice you for the balance which is due to be cleared by the time your puppy flies.
6. If you are picking up your puppy, it can generally be done between 6-7 weeks. Most often the puppies are eating well by 4 weeks and fully weaned by the end of the 5th week. An early maturing puppy can be ready by the 6th week while a later one will be ready by the 7th week. We are concerned about the best interest of the puppy as well as your specific situation.
7. Receive your puppy. Give it a hug. Let it go potty. Then love as needed --- for a lifetime!
